High voltage gain DC-DC converter
Subcategory (under Clean Energy): Cross Cutting
Technology Readiness Level (TRL): TRL 4 - Early prototype
Technology Outline (Process Description)
The proposed technology involves a high voltage gain DC-DC converter with higher efficiency and small magnetic components to integrate different types of energy storage devices of low voltage. The converter has a wide operation area with zero switching loss. An easy to implement robust adaptive power flow controller with less complexity for low cost processors ensures better performance of the converter.
Salient Features/Advantages
- High voltage gain property with reduced switch voltage stress, high efficiency, compact size and modular structure
- Easy deployment of the Adaptive power flow controller in industrially available micro-controller/DSP/FPGA for real-time applications
Key Outcomes
- Environmental and Economic Impact: The unique features reduce footprint. The use of low rated switches and small magnetic components lessen the overall cost
- Business Adaptability: A less complex converter structure and an easy-to-implement power flow controller bring industrial manufacturing scope
