ecoDR Tool
Subcategory (under Clean Energy): Cross Cutting
Technology Readiness Level (TRL): TRL 4 - Early prototype
Technology Outline (Process Description)
The ecoDR tool focuses on the development of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) with inbuilt load controller and protection functionalities. In addition to measurement and billing of household energy consumption, it facilitates remote monitoring and remote control of non-critical loads. This tool is capable to communicate with other ecoTools to implement services such as demand-side management by scheduling of critical/non-critical loads.
In case of limited generation of energy by RES the features like remote control of non-critical port and energy/power limits help to keep a check on the exploitation of energy by any consumer and have a fair distribution of energy among consumers. This will help the consumer to have reliability on RES solution even in the worst scenarios of limited generation.
