Development of hierarchical novel catalyst for one pot conversion of CO2 rich synthesis gas to Dimethyl Ether and scale-up Studies
Subcategory (under Clean Energy): CCU
Technology Readiness Level (TRL): TRL 4-5 - Early prototype
Technology Outline (Process Description)
The research work focuses on enhancing catalyst efficiency by constructing microstructures, introducing surface defects, tailoring chemical composition and tuning atomic structures. To develop a cost-effective fabrication methodology for transformation of plastic waste (PET) into Aerogels.
Salient Features/Advantages
The CO conversion levels for CO2 rich syngas were obtained in the range of 40-45% with a product selectivity as high as 85% (Methanol +DME).
Key Outcomes
The project team has developed an efficient single atom and multi metallic nano-catalyst for converting CO2 or CO2 rich syngas selectively into methanol and dimethyl ether (DME).
The developed materials demonstrated high catalytic performance with an exceptionally tuned product spectrum.
